ABOUT THE PROJECT

Yaama, Yuwindhu Michelle Jonkers-Daley

This project has initially been inspired by my lived experience of navigating our regional/rural Healthcare system when my son Kyle (17 years) waited over 30 hours for emergency surgery and in the aftermath experienced a severe infection.

After sharing our story there was a large community response and I have created this platform for the community to express their own experiences and invite mixed media art entries into the exhibition.  You can be a beginner, an emerging or an established artist to enter. You can also contribute anonymously if you would like.

​

I will be contributing to the exhibition in the form of portraiture and photography and invite residents in the Lithgow and surrounds to have their photo taken and share their stories.
